According to data of the Chinese National Bureau of Statistics, from January to September 2022, the cumulative production of chemical pesticide technical (converted to 100% active ingredients) in China was 1.9174 million tons, which is a cumulative decrease of 1.9% year on year; The average production of the month was 193,000 tons, down 2.6% month on month. The volume of production showed year-on-year and month-on-month ″double decline.″
In terms of the volume of production by province, from January to September 2022, the top three provinces in Chinese chemical pesticide technical production (converted to 100% active ingredients) are Jiangsu Province, Shandong Province and Sichuan Province, being respectively 422,500 tons, 232,500 tons and 228,900 tons, up 5.8%, 18.6% and 0.3% year on year respectively.
Among the top three provinces, Jiangsu and Shandong experienced higher increases in September, up 25.7% and 59.8% respectively. According to the supply-demand observation of the 60 major pesticides technical undertaken by research agency, it is noted that the operating rate of manufacturers in Jiangsu and Shandong has largely rebounded, which is a reflection of the outcome of the high-quality development initiative of the regions. However, for the third-ranked Sichuan, its production fell by 12.1% due to the impact of the problem of work safety of glyphosate production. Moreover, production in Inner Mongolia, Liaoning and Jilin provinces has further increased, as the new capacity of glufosinate, glyphosate and clethodim is gradually brought up to designed capacity running.
